About Us
There are three Healthy Living Centres in Leicester
North West. This area covers Mowmacre, Anstey Heights, Abbey Rise,
Beaumont Leys and Stocking Farm.
The Healthy Living Centres are at the Tudor Centre, Stocking Farm
Community Centre and next to Barley Croft Primary School.
The Centres were funded by the Big Lottery and the Single Regeneration
Budget 5 (SRB 5), a total of £1 million. The local SureStart project has
also donated toys and equipment for the centres.
The Healthy Living Centres are run by Leicester City West Primary Care Trust (Public Health Team) and Leicester City Council (Community Services Department)
The Healthy Living Centres work to a broad and holistic definition of health, acknowledging that health is not simply an absence of illness. Many external factors can affect an individual’s health e.g. housing, education, employment, income, social isolation etc.The Centres aim to make health related services available to local people in accessible community venues.
Services on offer may include: Health Visitor Clinics, Midwives Clinics, SureStart Sessions, Bosom Buddies, Foot Care Service (by appointment), Spect-A-Call and Smoking Cessation.
