Campaigns play an important part in the effort to improve health, aiming to foster general awareness of health issues and to target specific information and advice and other help to groups in the population who are at greater risk of specific conditions or illnesses.

Leicester Pharmacists and their staff take part in six public health campaigns a year. The purpose of these is to:·

  • increase patient and public knowledge and understanding of key healthy lifestyle and public health messages so they are empowered to take actions to improve health.

  • target the ‘hard to reach’ sectors of the population who are not frequently exposed top health promotion activities in other parts of the health or social care sector
